The facade of the station is decorated with colorful lights depicting scenes from Hindu mythology, particularly the Durga Puja festival. Sealdah Division Takes Special Measures for Durga Puja Crowd Management under the direction of Deepak Nigam, DRM Sealdah. Special measures are being taken to manage the huge crowds from suburbs during Durga Puja. RPF and Commercial Department staff are specifically deployed for this task.
To facilitate the visitors during Durga Puja, the Sealdah Division has already decided to run 20 special EMU trains throughout the night to meet the increased demand, so that suburban people do not face any problems in visiting the idols. Additionally, to maintain law and order, extra security personnel will be deployed at stations and on trains. Doctors and trained medical staff will be stationed at major stations like Sealdah and Dum Dum throughout the Puja days.
Queue management systems and crowd control services will be in place at certain locations to guide the massive influx of passengers during the peak hours, i.e., from 3:00 pm to 5:00 am.
