Kolkata : Sanjay Seth, Raksha Rajya Mantri visited the Indian Coast Guard Regional Headquarters at Kolkata on 02 Mar 25. The maiden visit of the Hon’ble minister to ICG Headquarters at Kolkata, included a review of Operational readiness and infrastructure plans of the Region.
Commander, Coast Guard Region (North-East), apprised the Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri on operational readiness and infrastructure development of the Region towards its mandated Coast Guard charter. The Hon’ble minister was briefed on the operational activities undertaken over the past year and strides taken to keep pace with evolving security scenario in the North-East Area of Responsibility (AoR).
Sanjay Seth also visited the Remote Operations Centre (ROC) of Chain of Static Sensors and was briefed on the electronic surveillance measures for ensuring coastal security in the Region. Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri praised the role played by the Indian Coast Guard in safeguarding our maritime zones and saving precious lives at sea, even in the harshest weather conditions.
