Kolkata : During the tactical phase of Sea Vigil-24 being steered by Indian Navy, conducted on 21 Nov, 24 at Victoria Memorial, security forces effectively responded to a simulated WIP Hostage Situation orchestrated by non- state actors. The scenario began with CISF Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) acting as the initial responders, swiftly containing the threat and initiating tactical operations. Reinforcement neighboring CISF units bolstered the response, ensuring robust perimeter security and crowd management
The Indian Army provided critical support by deploying sniper teams at strategic vantage points, delivering precision overwatch and neutralizing high-risk targets. Concurrently, the management of Victoria memorial played a vital role by providing real-time access to site layout, security systems, and logistical support. Their cooperation enabled the security forces to gain situational awareness and plan tactical maneuvers effectively, minimizing risks to the public and heritage property.
The coordinated effort between the Indian Navy, CISF, Indian Army. and Victoria Memorial management ensured a seamless operation. The exercise concluded with the successful neutralization of the non-state actors, the safe rescue of the WIP and hostages, and the complete restoration of public safety.
