Kolkata : The Australian Government successfully hosted the third phase of its flagship initiative, Festival of Australia, in Kolkata, celebrating Australia’s excellence in education and premium food & beverage offerings.
The multi-city festival, held as part of the fifth anniversary of the Australia-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, connected Indian students and parents with leading Australian universities. Interactive masterclasses, including a session on Artificial Intelligence, provided valuable insights into studying and building a career in Australia.
Notably, accomplished Australian alumni shared their success stories, giving a personal touch to the educational exchange.
In partnership with Nature’s Basket and Reliance Retail’s JioMart, the event featured a premium retail showcase of Australian food products. A live cooking demo using native ingredients highlighted the diversity of Australia’s culinary landscape.
The festival also hosted “Yiwarra Kuju: The Canning Stock Route”—a powerful exhibition of Indigenous Australian art curated by the National Museum of Australia, reflecting Australia’s deep-rooted cultural heritage.
Vik Singh, Trade and Investment Commissioner at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), stated, “The Festival of Australia in Kolkata is a unique celebration of education, cuisine, and culture. It reflects the growing collaboration between Australia and India, offering students and families a glimpse into the innovation and quality Australia stands for.”
