New Delhi: An Indian Armed Forces contingent of 65 personnel left today for the Mulino Training Ground, Nizhniy, Russia to take part in the multilateral military exercise ZAPAD 2025, scheduled from September 10 to 16.
The contingent includes 57 personnel from the Indian Army, seven from the Indian Air Force, and one from the Indian Navy. The Army team is led by a battalion of the KUMAON Regiment, with support from other arms and services.
Exercise ZAPAD 2025 will focus on joint company-level operations in open and plain terrain, covering joint planning, tactical drills, counter-terrorism operations, and integration of emerging technologies.
The Ministry of Defence said participation in the exercise will enhance interoperability, military cooperation, and defence ties between India and Russia, while providing a platform for exchange of tactics and operational procedures.
