Kolkata : Amity University Kolkata held its Convocation 2025 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, where more than 2000 students were awarded degrees across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The event underscored the University’s focus on academic excellence, leadership development, and global preparedness.
The prestigious Steve Baljit Sachar Award was presented to 23 outstanding students for their exemplary academic achievements and strong human values.
The ceremony was graced by Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Alok K. Srivastava and Senior Vice-PresidentU. Ramachandran. Industry leaders Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson of PwC India and Rahul L. Kanodia, Vice Chairman & CEO of Datamatics Global Services Ltd., received honorary doctorates.
Addressing the gathering, Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan commended the graduates’ perseverance.
“Convocation is a reminder that excellence must be pursued with empathy and purpose. Amity graduates have consistently shown they can lead with both intellect and integrity,” he said.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Alok K. Srivastava reflected on the students’ academic journey, noting,
“Our graduates leave with not just degrees, but with the curiosity and values essential to thrive in a complex world.”
Senior Vice-President U. Ramachandran highlighted Amity’s mission, stating,
“The true success of Amity graduates lies in their ability to innovate and contribute meaningfully to society.”
Accepting their honorary doctorates, Sanjeev Krishan urged students to adopt purposeful leadership, while Rahul L. Kanodia emphasised the importance of agility, ethics, and technological fluency for future leaders.
The convocation, attended by parents, faculty, and distinguished guests, marked a significant milestone for the University as graduates begin their professional journeys.
Celebrating Amity’s global ethos, the event showcased cultural diversity and inclusivity, with students from multiple Indian states and several countries.
