IPA Annual Convention Expo NextGen Pharma 2026 to Focus on Empowering Global Healthcare

Kolkata : The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Bengal Branch, will organise its Annual Convention — IPA Annual Convention Expo NextGen Pharma 2026 — on March 14 and 15, 2026, at the IIT Kharagpur Research Park.

The organising committee and key members of the association addressed the media at the Kolkata Press Club today to outline the objectives and highlights of the upcoming convention.

The media briefing was conducted by Debarshi Duttagupta (Chairman), Probhas Bondhu Chakraborty (Co-Chairman), Dr. Mukti Pada Rana (President, IPA Bengal Branch & Convenor), Dr. Jayanta Chaudhury (Organising Secretary), and Ashok Kumar Maity (Honorary Secretary, IPA Bengal Pharma & Executive Secretary). Also present were P. K. Mallik (Co-Convenor), Dr. Biplab Debnath (Co-Convenor), Dr. Pulak Kumar Mukherjee (Chairman, Scientific Committee), Dr. Subhash C. Mandal (National Secretary, IPA), and Dr. R. N. Gupta (National President, IPA).

Among the dignitaries attending the interaction was Arup Kumar Chatterjee, Deputy Drugs Controller (India), CDSCO – Eastern Zone.

The theme of this year’s convention is “Empowering Global Healthcare – Innovate, Deliver & Practice.”

The two-day convention is expected to attract more than 1,200 visitors, over 800 delegates, and 50+ exhibitors from the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and allied sectors.

The programme will feature award and oration lectures, plenary lectures, scientific sessions, panel discussions, oral and poster presentations, along with a large industry exhibition. The plenary and panel discussions will address contemporary issues, emerging challenges, and future opportunities in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. Eminent experts from academia, regulatory bodies, and the pharmaceutical industry will share insights, practical solutions, and strategic perspectives for the future of healthcare.

The convention will place special emphasis on innovation, quality systems, digital health, and patient-centric care, aiming to empower the next generation of pharmacists while strengthening their role in global healthcare delivery.

The exhibitor profile includes pharmaceutical companies, API manufacturers, cosmetic manufacturers, pharma machinery and laboratory equipment manufacturers, service providers, nutraceutical organisations, healthcare service providers, and innovation start-ups, representing a broad spectrum of the healthcare ecosystem.

The inaugural session of the convention will take place on March 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the IIT Kharagpur Research Park, New Town, Kolkata.

Dr. Rajiv Singh Raghubanshi, Drugs Controller General of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has consented to attend as the Chief Guest. Narayan Swaroop Nigam, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, will be present as the Guest of Honour.

Distinguished dignitaries including Dr. R. N. Gupta, National President of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, and Dr. Subhash C. Mandal, National Honorary General Secretary of IPA, will also attend the programme.

In addition, several eminent personalities from the **Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and the University of Oxford (UK), along with representatives from the global pharmaceutical industry and leading pharmaceutical media, have confirmed their participation in the convention.
