Kolkata : Registration for the highly anticipated 9th edition of the JBG Kolkata World 10K
2024 has officially started from 15th September. Participants can register for the most popular and
anticipated running event of the city with its holding area at the picturesque location at Godrej Waterside in Salt Lake Sector 5, offering a vibrant and scenic route through Kolkata’s bustling streets.
Sponsored by Jai Balaji Group and organized by Sportiz, the event is certified by AIIMS and World Athletics and is expected to witness over 5,000 runners to compete in various categories. In its 9th edition, the JBG Kolkata World 10K 2024 aims to continue to evolve, expand and modify to become a world-class event that celebrates health, fitness, community spirit and inclusivity in every form. The event categories announced by the 9th edition of JBG Kolkata World 10K 2024 has something for everyone which is designed to suit participants of all ages and abilities.
- Elite 10K for top-tier professional runners, entry by invitation or qualification only.
- Open 10K a timed 10 km race for amateur runners aged 13 and above (as of 24th November 2024).
- Endura 5K a timed 5 km race for participants aged 13 and above (as of 24th November 2024).
- Senior Citizen Run a timed 3 km category to encourage fitness among seniors allowing participants aged 60 and above (as of 24th November 2024) to walk, jog, or run at their own pace.
- Special Heroes Run a non-timed event for individuals with disabilities, celebrating every athlete’s spirit. A companion aged 18 or older must accompany each participant in this category.
- Kid Run a timed 2 km race for children aged 8 to 12, encouraging fitness in the younger generation. Each child to be accompanied by a guardian aged 18 or older. JBG Kolkata World 10K is offering Early Bird Registration Discount across all event categories for first 15 days, ending on 30th September 2024. Participants can now register for the Open 10K at ₹1199 (regular fee ₹1599), while the Endura 5K is available for ₹999 (regular fee ₹1299). For the Senior Citizen Run, the early bird fee is ₹599 (regular fee ₹999), and participants in the Special Heroes Run can register for ₹499 (regular fee ₹699). Lastly, children participating in the Kid Run can register at the early bird rate of ₹499 (regular fee ₹599).
