Kolkata : The Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management (GNIHM), a JIS Group educational initiative, hosted the grand finale of the 10th edition of the World Food Competition (WFC) 2026 at its campus in Panihati, Kolkata. Recognised as one of the most prestigious international culinary platforms, the competition brought together 160 participants from 40 countries, celebrating global gastronomic talent, creativity, and innovation.
The finale witnessed the presence of some of the most celebrated names in the culinary world, including celebrity master chefs Sanjeev Kapoor, Kunal Kapur and Parvinder Singh Bali. They were joined by key leadership from the JIS Group, including Simarpreet Singh.
Over the years, the World Food Competition has evolved into a significant global platform that brings together culinary talent, industry experts and hospitality students under one roof. The event promotes culinary excellence, encourages innovation in gastronomy and fosters cultural exchange through food, while offering aspiring chefs an invaluable opportunity to learn from internationally acclaimed professionals.
During the three-day celebration of culinary artistry marking the competition’s 10th edition, international participants showcased their signature dishes representing cuisines from their respective countries. The vibrant display of global flavours transformed the event into a remarkable celebration of food, creativity and international culinary collaboration.
Participants also had the opportunity to interact with eminent master chefs and gain valuable insights into global culinary techniques and emerging gastronomic trends.
In the final results of the competition, Dibyajyoti Saha of India secured the first position in the Chef Competition category. Bonolo Lesupi of South Africa finished second, while Ni Luh Putu Aditi Satriani of Indonesia secured the third position.
