Kolkata: The Health and Family Welfare Department of B. R. Singh Hospital, Eastern Railway organized a Breast Cancer Awareness program at B. R. Singh Hospital auditorium on 31th October, coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event featured key figures in the field of medicine and health, and aimed to educate and empower the community about the importance of early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Indira Jha, the Medical Director of B R Singh Hospital, and Dr. Achintya Sanyal, Chief Medical Superintendent. These eminent medical professionals lent their expertise to the program, highlighting the critical need for awareness and preventive measures.
Dr. Dipanjan Prodhan, Senior DMO of Surgery, and Dr. Beauty Sarkar, Associate Chief Health Director of Gynecology, delivered insightful presentations on various aspects of breast cancer, including risk factors, the process of self-breast examination, early diagnosis, and other preventive measures. The program’s slogan, “Pink together, stronger forever,” encapsulates the spirit of unity and determination in the fight against breast cancer. It emphasizes that when communities come together in solidarity, they become a formidable force in combating this disease.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of numerous doctors and paramedical staff from the region, who are actively engaged in patient care and education regarding breast cancer.
