Kolkata: A major fire breaks out tonight at Sealdah Vidyasagar Setu. One fire engine rushed to the spot and took the fire under control.
A pole on the Vidyasagar Setu caught fire today at around 9PM. Sudden fire at the very beginning of the year caused panic in the locals and shopkeepers of the Sealdah Sisir Market.
Within a few moments of the fire, electric wires began to break and the fire started spreading on the tarpaulins of the shop.The fire sparks over the tarpaulin were controlled by the instantaneous promptitute of the locals.
Local shopkeepers tried to put out the fire with fire extinguishers and cut off a part of the electricity to prevent the fire from spreading.
A fire engine reached the spot in time and was able to control the fire. Major incident have been avoided by timely action taken by locals and administration.
