Kolkata : Sealdah Division is conducting extensive ticket checking efforts across the division and at the same time trying to spread public awareness against this social evil.
As a part of that endeavour, two back to back special ticket Checking Drives were conducted in the Hasnabad section and Sealdah South Section on 30.05.24 & 31.05.24 respectively.
During the massive drives, a whooping 764 cases were identified where passengers either did not have a ticket or had an incorrect ticket or lacked valid documentation for accompanying luggage. These cases resulted in a total revenue earning of ₹2,17,300.
On 30.5.24, a Jagriti checking was conducted in Hasnabad section in which total 379 cases were booked for ticketless travelling or unbooked luggage resulting in total revenue earnings of Rs.107810/-. Subsequently on 31.05.24, a fortress checking was carried out in Sealdah South Section in which 385 people were penalised & a total fine of Rs.109490/- was imposed.
These drives are testimony to our unflinching commitment to curb the menace of ticketless travel and unbooked luggage. These drives are conducted continuously under the guidance of Santanu Chakraborty, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager and under the able leadership of DRM/Sealdah Deepak Nigam.
