Kolkata: Sealdah Division conducted once again a special ticket checking drive to promote ticket purchasing and ensure a smooth travel experience for passengers on the Sealdah-Lakshmikantpur section. The drive was led by PCCM Dr. Uday Shankar Jha, along with Sr. DCM Sealdah sri Pawan Kumar.
The drive yielded higher revenue compared to the Sealdah-Barasat section, underscoring the need for intensified ticket checking efforts on this route.

The primary objective of this checking was to educate passengers about the importance of ticket purchase and the benefits of adhering to railway rules and regulations.

In this checking drive a total of 673 ticketless passengers were apprehended, resulting in a fine of Rs. 178,320. Additionally, 199 cases of unbooked luggage were detected, leading to a fine of Rs. 43,610. In total, 872 cases were registered, and a fine of Rs. 223,718 was collected.

PCCM Dr. Uday Shankar Jha stated: “By purchasing tickets, passengers not only comply with railway rules but also ensure a hassle-free journey. We encourage all passengers to prioritize ticket purchase and contribute to a more organized and efficient railway system.

Sr. DCM Sealdah sri Pawan Kumar also stated that this drive is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance passenger experience. We will continue to conduct such initiatives to promote ticket purchasing and discourage ticketless travel.

Sealdah Railway Division urges all passengers to purchase tickets and cooperate with railway authorities to maintain a pleasant travel environment.
