Multi-Disciplinary Safety Seminar in SDAH division

Kolkata: A comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Safety Seminar was successfully conducted at Rabindra Sabha Kakshya,Sealdah in Sealdah Division. The seminar, organized by Sri Pankaj Yadav, Sr. DOM/Sealdah, was presided by Deepak Nigam, DRM Sealdah, and saw the participation of 102 employees (TI & CYM) from various station across the division

The seminar focused on crucial safety aspects such as:

  1. Emphasizing the importance of adherence to standard operating procedures during shunting operations to prevent accidents.
  2. Highlighting the need for proper securing of all railway vehicles to ensure their stability and prevent derailments.
  3. Underscoring the critical role of alertness and vigilance among all railway employees during their duty hours.
  4. Emphasizing the importance of regular counselling sessions for operational staff to address any concerns, enhance safety awareness, and improve overall performance.
  5. Discussing the significance of conducting regular ambush checks and surprise inspections to identify and rectify potential safety hazards.
  6. Also focusing on the safe and efficient operation of level crossings, including the proper functioning of sliding barriers and discuss the importance of maintaining a clear line set against the block line to prevent accidents and ensure smooth train operations.
    The seminar effectively conveyed the critical importance of safety, competence, and vigilance at all levels within the railway system. All attendees actively participated in the discussions, emphasizing the need for proactive reporting of safety concerns and strict adherence to operational rules.
    DRM/Sealdah Sri Deepak Nigam, in his address, commended the efforts of the Sr.DOM/Sealdah and all participants for their active involvement in the seminar. He reiterated the commitment of the division to prioritize safety and ensure the well-being of all employees. The seminar served as a valuable platform for enhancing safety awareness and promoting a culture of safety within the Sealdah Division.
