HRI Rajeev Saxena Appointed as New DRM of Sealdah Division

Kolkata :Rajeev Saxena, an officer of the Indian Railway Stores Service (IRSS), assumed charge as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Sealdah Division on April 23.

In his last assignment, Rajeev Saxena was posted as Joint Secretary Ministry of Textile where he contributed significantly in National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) & also spearheaded innovative R&D in Textile Sector. Prior to that, Sri Saxena served as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and in Dedicated freight Corridor Corporation (DFCCIL) as GM (Stores & IT).

Rajeev Saxena is an officer of 1994 batch IRSS & joined Indian Railways on 02.01.1996. He graduated in Civil Engineering (BE) from erstwhile MNREC Allahabad with gold medal & subsequently completed M.Tech. in structural engineering from IIT Delhi.

In Ministry of Railways, Saxena had served as Director Railway Electrification (Stores), Railway Board dealing with procurement of Tower Wagons and other Rolling Stock for Railway Electrification. In his different assignments over Indian Railways, he worked in various places like Diesel Loco Shed/Ratlam, Electric Loco Shed/Tughlakabad, as Divisional Controller of Stores in Jaipur etc. In North Central Railway, Shri Saxena had worked as Dy Chief Materials Manager and Dy. Chief Vigilance officer (Stores).

He has undergone Management Training in INSEAD/Singapore, ICLIF/Malaysia, MDI/Gurugram and had exposure in public governance of Germany, Georgia and Türkiye. He has also led industry delegations to USA, Russia and Germany for promotion of Indian technical textiles sector.

Rajeev Saxena has a stellar career spanning over 29 years and stand out academic excellence record. He is having in-depth knowledge in General Management, Legal Affairs, IT and policy making. His vast experience in a wide array of fields and understanding of Government Operations will be highly beneficial for leading Sealdah Division from the front.
