Kolkata: As monsoon winds rustled through the campus of Don Bosco School, Park Circus, the air was charged not just with excitement, but transformation. On July 31 and August 1, the school hosted MuseVention 2025—a two-day interdisciplinary STEAM showcase in collaboration with International STEAM Research (ISR), USA, which turned the spotlight on India’s next generation of innovators.
This wasn’t just an event. It was a movement—a powerful celebration of creativity, critical thinking, and the muse within each learner. Over 500 student-led projects redefined what learning can and should look like when curiosity is nurtured with intention and support.
From disaster mitigation drones to Formula 1 racing simulations, crop management innovations to architectural smart cities, students across grades presented solutions to real-world problems with stunning clarity and conviction. Each prototype was not just a display—it was a story. A story of exploration, discovery, and months of perseverance under the guidance of ISR-certified facilitators.
The event’s wide thematic canvas covered:
- Environmental stewardship
- Urban infrastructure & traffic engineering

In a touching gesture, Certificates of Honour were presented jointly by ISR and Don Bosco to parents who actively backed their children’s innovation journeys. “I couldn’t believe my son designed a warzone rescue robot. Don Bosco saw what I didn’t—his genius,” shared a parent, teary-eyed and overcome with pride.
The event also served as a powerful social mirror—encouraging families to look beyond the pressure of conventional career paths and embrace their children’s passions. It wasn’t just about gadgets and grades; it was about mindset transformation.
Setting New Benchmarks in Experiential Learning
The event drew participation and praise from educational leaders across the city, including principals and faculty from Calcutta Boys’ School, Don Bosco Kalyani, South Point High School, Modern High School for Girls, Shri Shikshayatan School, and more. Many noted that MuseVention rivalled global academic showcases in both scale and substance.
“It’s rare to see such diverse, interdisciplinary projects executed at this level. Don Bosco and ISR have created a model every institution should aspire to,” said one senior educator.
An ISR facilitator summed it up aptly: “MuseVention isn’t just preparing students for jobs. It’s preparing them for life.” With the world moving towards Education 4.0, and in alignment with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the event championed critical thinking, collaboration, adaptability, and holistic development—skills essential for the 21st-century learner.

With over 2000 attendees, MuseVention 2025 proved that India is ready—and eager—for educational models that go beyond rote learning.
