Kolkata: Education technology company PhysicsWallah (PW) hosted the WBJEE Felicitation Ceremony in Kolkata to honour students from West Bengal who achieved outstanding academic success.

Among those recognised were Sujay Bhattacharya (AIR 18) from Halisahar, Akash Huzzat (AIR 32) from Sodepur, and Prayas De (AIR 61) from Arambagh, who secured top ranks in WBJEE 2025.

Sharing his journey, Akash Huzzat (AIR 32) said:
“My WBJEE preparation was challenging. Initially, I enrolled in a different offline institute but I was easily distracted and wasn’t benefitting enough from those classes. So I started watching PW Bangla’s videos online to get conceptual clarity. The teachers explained things in detail and in a way that was easy to understand, which made a significant difference in my preparation. These lectures helped me get Rank 32. Thanks to that I’ve now enrolled in IIT Bombay.”

The felicitation also celebrated the achievements of West Bengal students in other examinations, including NEET and the 2025 Class 10 & 12 board exams.

  • Tanaaz Sultana, who secured 9th rank in Class 10 (state level).
  • Anubhab Mandal and Abhradeep Bera, who both achieved 8th rank in Class 12.

Speaking about his struggles, Anubhab Mandal, Class 12 topper, said:
“I struggled with the differences between the West Bengal Board and CBSE syllabus, and just three days before the exams my father suffered a heart attack. It was one of the toughest moments of my life. But my PW teachers kept me going, supporting me and helping me prepare. With their guidance I secured 8th rank in the state.”

Congratulating the students, Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO of PhysicsWallah, said:
“Congratulations to all the students who have cleared these exams with such great scores. Your focus, resilience, and commitment reflect the spirit of consistent learning. At PW, we try to build systems that prioritise clarity, consistency, and access. As an educational organisation, we remain committed to improving how learning is delivered — not just for outcomes, but to provide educational equity. And to those who didn’t achieve the result they hoped for, this is just one step in a long journey.”

The event ended with emotional and inspiring moments, motivating students across West Bengal to dream big and pursue their educational goals with determination.
