Kolkata : Procam International, promoters of the Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata (TSW 25K), announced Double Olympic Silver medallist and World Championships Gold & Silver medallist Kenny Bednarek as the International Event Ambassador for the milestone 10th edition, scheduled on Sunday, 21 December 2025. The world’s first World Athletics Gold Label 25K race continues to unite the community through sport, celebrating resilience, inclusivity and the indomitable human spirit.
At just 27, Bednarek—fondly known as Kung Fu Kenny—has emerged as one of global athletics’ most respected sprinters. A two-time Olympic silver medallist in the 200m at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, along with a gold and silver at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, he has established himself as one of the sport’s most consistent performers. His story underscores that perseverance, not perfection, defines true greatness.
Born in Wisconsin and adopted after a difficult childhood, Bednarek’s journey from community college tracks to the world’s biggest sporting stages stands as a powerful reminder that success is shaped by resolve and resilience.

Representing the United States, the sprinter boasts some of the finest personal bests in track history — 9.79s (100m, 2025), 19.57s (200m, 2024), and 44.73s (400m, 2019).
