Ambuja Neotia Launches State-of-the-Art Centre for Paediatric Multispecialty at New Town Hospital, Kolkata

Healthcare Kolkata

Kolkata : Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre—one of Eastern India’s most trusted names in women’s and child healthcare—announced a major milestone with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Centre for Paediatric Multispecialty at its New Town hospital. The new advanced facility was unveiled by Mr. Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman, Ambuja Neotia Group.

Developed as a strategic expansion of the existing New Town campus, the centre reinforces the organisation’s commitment to building a comprehensive, child-centric healthcare ecosystem—one that integrates clinical excellence with cutting-edge technology, empathy, and thoughtfully crafted design. With this launch, the hospital’s total capacity has expanded to 220 beds.

For over two decades, Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre has served as a trusted pillar in maternal, women’s, and paediatric health. Recognising the growing need for highly specialised paediatric care in India, the hospital has now stepped beyond routine treatment to embrace advanced, multidisciplinary, precision-led paediatric medicine.

While families may be familiar with common childhood ailments, complex conditions—such as congenital heart disorders, neurological challenges, and renal-specific diseases—require early detection, high-precision diagnostics, and coordinated specialist care. The new centre is designed to bridge this critical gap by ensuring that children—from newborns to adolescents—receive the right expertise at the right time, all under one integrated roof.

The advanced paediatric surgical ecosystem features a dedicated Paediatric Cath Lab, specialised Paediatric Cardiac Surgery OT, and a Paediatric Dialysis Unit. These are supported by high-end diagnostic technologies including a 160-slice CT scanner and 1.5 Tesla MRI, both customised for children’s unique physiological needs.

Integrated Paediatric Subspecialties

Guided by the belief that a paediatric hospital cannot simply be a smaller version of an adult facility, the new centre has been designed with age-appropriate infrastructure, paediatric-specific technologies, and clinicians trained in child-specific care. The hospital now offers advanced subspecialties such as:

  • Paediatric Cardiology
  • Paediatric Nephrology
  • Paediatric Neurology
  • Paediatric Gastroenterology
  • Paediatric Surgery
  • Paediatric Urology
  • Paediatric Orthopaedics

The NICU, PICU, paediatric emergency services, and advanced operating theatres are complemented by child-friendly interiors, sensory-aware environments, and dedicated age-specific zones for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. Every design element reflects Ambuja Neotia’s philosophy of nurturing healing and preserving dignity for both children and families during vulnerable moments.

Continuing Leadership in Advanced Infertility Care

The organisation has also strengthened its pioneering work in reproductive health with the establishment of a comprehensive Department of Infertility and Reproductive Medicine at the new campus. Led by a team of experienced specialists, the unit provides personalised, evidence-based evaluation and treatment for complex infertility challenges.

Leadership Speaks

Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman, Ambuja Neotia Group, said:
“This hospital represents more than an expansion of our healthcare footprint—it reflects our belief that every child deserves care shaped around their unique needs. Children are not small adults; their bodies, emotions, and vulnerabilities demand specialised attention, thoughtful design, and deep expertise.
Our endeavour has always been to create spaces where science is strengthened by sensitivity, and where families feel supported, reassured, and cared for. This new centre is a step toward that larger purpose.”

The inauguration of this state-of-the-art Centre for Paediatric Multispecialty marks a significant leap in Eastern India’s paediatric healthcare landscape. With its multidisciplinary model, advanced subspecialties, and child-centric environment, the hospital aims to enable early diagnosis, enhance clinical outcomes, and deliver integrated, compassionate care for families across the region.
