Kolkata :On the occasion of World Optometry Day (23rd March), the Eastern India Optometric Association (EIOA), in collaboration with Trinayani Eye Care, successfully organized an Optometry Day Celebration on 29th March at Trinayani Eye Care hospital.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Tapas Chandra Saha, Director of Trinayani Eye Care; Manas Chakraborty, Secretary of BOA; Sujit Banik, Vice President of EIOA; Madhumita Deb, Secretary of EIOA; Debashish Saha, Assistant Secretary; and Bishwambhar Nath, Accountant, along with other distinguished guests.

A number of welfare initiatives were carried out during the program, including a Free Eye Testing Camp, Free Medical Check-up Camp, Free Medicine Distribution, and a Free Workshop, benefiting a large number of people. Additionally, study materials were distributed among underprivileged children, reflecting the organization’s commitment to social responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, EIOA Secretary Madhumita Deb said, “This day is like a festival for us. Serving people is our way of worship. If anyone wishes to donate their eyes, EIOA will extend full support. We are always there for any health-related assistance.”
EIOA Vice President Sujit Banik added, “With greater support from society, EIOA can expand its reach and serve many more people in the future.”
Dr. Tapas Chandra Saha stated, “Trinayani Eye Care is equipped with advanced mechanisms and modern facilities, ensuring high-quality treatment and services for patients.”
A major highlight of the event was an Eye Donation Awareness Program, scripted by Madhumita Deb and performed by Moumita Hazra and Sonia Parvin. Their heartfelt performance left a lasting impact on the audience, spreading a strong message about the importance of eye donation.
The event stood as a powerful example of compassion, awareness, and dedicated community service.
