Kolkata : Actress and Trinamool Congress leader Nussrat Jahan inaugurated the third edition of the RTC & STC Garments Fair at the Biswa Bangla Exhibition Centre in New Town, Kolkata, on Friday. Organised by RTC GARMENTEX and STC GARMENTS, the two-day fair brings together garment manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, traders and buyers from across India.
The fair is being held on August 14 and 15 and features participation from more than 200 brands and businesses representing 10 major garment hubs, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Kanpur, Indore, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Jabalpur and Amravati.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Nussrat Jahan along with Manish Bhadani and Rahul Kumar, CEO and organisers of the RTC & STC Garments Fair.
The participating brands are showcasing a wide range of apparel across men’s, women’s, girls’ and children’s categories. The exhibition also focuses on new designs, fashion trends and collections aimed at the upcoming festive season.
The organisers expect more than 2,000 visitors and over 1,500 customers during the two-day event. The fair provides buyers and retailers with an opportunity to explore products from different garment markets across the country on a single platform.
Speaking at the inauguration, Nussrat Jahan said, “I am delighted to be a part of the opening ceremony of the RTC & STC Garments Fair. It is wonderful to see brands and businesses from different parts of the country coming together in Kolkata. Such platforms provide valuable opportunities for the garment industry, while also giving customers access to a wide variety of products and the latest fashion trends under one roof.”
Manish Bhadani and Rahul Kumar, CEO and organisers of the RTC & STC Garments Fair, said the response to the third edition had been encouraging.
“Our objective is to create a strong business and sourcing platform where buyers can directly explore products from different garment hubs across India. With more than 200 participating brands from 10 cities, this edition brings together a diverse range of products across categories, with a special focus on the latest trends for the upcoming festive season,” they said.
The fair is designed as a sourcing and business networking platform for retailers, traders, buyers and other stakeholders in the apparel industry. By bringing together established garment markets from different parts of India, the organisers aim to strengthen business connections and encourage greater collaboration within the sector.
The RTC & STC Garments Fair will remain open on August 14 and 15 at the Biswa Bangla Exhibition Centre, New Town, Kolkata.
