Eastern Railway Observed Swachh Neer Diwas on the occasion Swachhta Pakhwara

Kolkata: The Swachhta Pakhwara programme commenced on 16th September and will culminate on 2nd October. On the 11th day of Swachhta Pakhwara, ‘Swachh Neer (Clean Water) Diwas’ observed all over Eastern Railway through various programmes and activities.

The 11th day of the Swachhta Pakhwada designated as ‘Swachh Neer (Clean Water) Diwas’ for inspection of water installation, water taps, water sample checking, cleaning of drinking water tap area, stacking hydrant pipe at coach water filling point, competency certificate of water testing, vending machine, water cooler etc.

On the 11th day of Swachhta Pakhwada, four Divisions of Eastern Railway viz. Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol, Malda conducted intensive inspection of water installation, water taps, bottled water with sample checking at stations, trains, and water vending stalls, Stacking of Hydrant  pipe, Cleanliness of water storage tank, inspection of Packaged Drinking Water at various stations over Eastern Railway. Intensive inspection was also conducted at water installation in offices, Railway colonies, Railway Hospital/ Health Unit, Railway Schools to ensure availability of water tasting kits and chemicals round the clock. Eastern Railway Workshops also carried out the inspections on the day of ‘Swachh Neer (Clean Water) Diwas’ on the occasion of Swachhta Pakhwada.
