Kolkata: In the wake of ensuing Durga Puja festival & beginning of Devi Paksha, Eastern Railway is arranging for paying a tribute to Matri Shakti by introducing first class compartment in Matribhoomi ladies special local trains. The process is undergoing for providing one first class coach in Ranaghat – Sealdah – Ranaghat Matribhoomi ladies special train as the Devi Paksha began. The first class coach in Matribhoomi local train will provide more comfortable accommodation with cushioned seats, mat covered floor, eye catching paintings on the compartment walls and improved aesthetics.
Kausik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer said that initially Eastern Railway has planned to introduce Matribhoomi ladies special local train with first class coach in Ranaghat – Sealdah – Ranaghat route as a pilot project. Depending upon the response & success of this project, more Matribhoomi ladies special local trains will be provided with first class coach in addition to second class sitting coaches.
Lady passengers of Sealdah – Ranaghat section are very enthusiastic regarding this innovative initiative of Sealdah division. This facility will be helpful especially for working ladies with better comfort during their journey to work places which will help them in keeping their energy levels in full when joining their duties.
