Grand Finale of ‘Dance With The Rising Stars’

Kolkata : The much anticipated grand finale of ‘Dance with the Rising Stars, a collaborative effort of the Eastern Command with HSBC Canara and Radio Mirchi, illuminated Fort William with a burst of youthful energy and creativity on 27 March 2024.

Held under the patronage of HQ Bengal Sub Area, this event showcased the extraordinary talent of 12 budding stars carefully selected from amongst 60 participants from the entire Eastern Command.

These young performers, aged 6 to 18 years, captivated the audience with their mesmerizing performances, seamlessly blending traditional elegance with contemporary flair. From graceful ballet to dynamic hip-hop, each act showcased the diverse and vibrant tapestry of Indian dance culture.

The esteemed panel of judges, consisting of Moushumi Chatterjee, a renowned choreographer cum dance maestro and Lavanya Ghosh, a celebrated Odissi exponent and choreographer, faced the challenging task of selecting the top gifted dancers amidst a hugely talent group of participants.

The grand finale, graced by distinguished dignitaries from both military and civilian spheres, reached its pinnacle in the gracious presence of Ashima Srikanth, Regional Vice President of AWWA, who honored the event as the Chief Guest and awarded the participants for their outstanding performances.

In the fiercely contested “Talent Teens” category, Komalpreet Kaur mesmerized the audience and claimed the top position with her jaw-dropping performance, showcasing extraordinary talent and grace. Following closely behind, Annliya B Joseph secured the second position, while Shambhavi Bahuguna impressed to clinch the third spot.

Meanwhile, in the enchanting “Little Star” category, Palakshi Mehta stole the show with her remarkable performance, earning the admiration of all present. Not far behind, Arushi Barman and M Velantina Chanu captivated the audience and secured the second and third positions respectively, with their impressive skills and dedication. A Special Category award for Audience choice was bagged again by Komalpreet Kaur.

The event not only provided a platform for the young talents to showcase their skills but also served as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Indian Army to nurture and support the talents of the next generation.

The enthusiasm and vigour of the participants is a testament to their dedication, passion, and relentless pursuit of excellence.
