Birbhum, Raju Mal : A chilling incident has shaken the quiet village of Barmesia under Banhat Gram Panchayat in Rampurhat, West Bengal. Haridas Soren (40), a resident of Barmesia, was allegedly murdered by his friend Bikram Kisku.
Yesterday, Bikram invited Haridas to consume intoxicants around 8 pm, according to Haridas’ son, Chandon Tudu. Haridas stepped out with Bikram but never returned home. The next morning, Bikram informed Haridas’ family of his demise. “My father left with Bikram around 8 pm and didn’t come back,” Chandon Tudu stated. “Bikram later told us that my father had passed away.”
Local residents alerted the police about the incident, leading to the discovery of Haridas’ body in a nearby Pathor Khadan with severe injuries on the face and head, suspected to be caused by a stone.
Bikram Kisku remains at large. The police are investigating the motive behind the murder. “We are working to unravel the circumstances surrounding Haridas’ tragic death,” said a police official.
Chandon Tudu has demanded severe punishment for the accused. “I want justice for my father’s brutal murder.”
The body has been sent to Rampurhat Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
