Lady Constables of BSF Prove Women Equal in Every Field: Ready for New Responsibilities

Malda:Three women constables of the Border Security Force (BSF), South Bengal Frontier, have set an inspiring example by successfully completing a tough 12-week Driving and Maintenance (D&M) training under the BSF Malda Sector. Not only did they finish the course, but they also secured the top three positions in the final assessment, leaving behind all their male counterparts.

The training, held from 9 June to 30 August 2025, included intensive practice in driving and maintaining both light and heavy vehicles. The curriculum was extremely demanding, requiring high levels of physical and mental fitness. Despite the challenges, the women constables performed exceptionally well and proved their abilities equal—if not superior—to their male colleagues.

With this achievement, the South Bengal Frontier of BSF has decided to include women constables as trained drivers. Their addition will further boost the mobility and operational strength of the force. This success clearly shows that ‘Nari Shakti’ (women power) is capable of taking on any responsibility.

Traditionally, women were considered unfit for such demanding roles, but these constables have broken all stereotypes. Their performance stands as a strong answer to anyone who doubts the capability of women in the forces.

The BSF leadership is committed to giving women equal opportunities in new and challenging roles. Their successful participation not only highlights women empowerment but also reflects the progressive vision of the force.

Speaking on the achievement, the Public Relations Officer of BSF South Bengal Frontier said that women personnel are not only guarding the borders effectively but are also excelling in areas once thought to be reserved for men. Their dedication and efficiency are continuously bringing pride and glory to the BSF.
