Kolkata: Registrations for the Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata — India’s only World Athletics Gold Label 25K — have surged to record-breaking levels, reaffirming Kolkata’s position as one of the nation’s most passionate running hubs. As the city gears up for the landmark 10th edition, enthusiasm continues to soar across all categories, underscoring themes of fitness, inclusivity, and community pride.

‘Bhaichung’s 10’ Kicks Off the Celebrations

The official countdown began today with an energetic five-a-side exhibition match titled “Bhaichung’s 10.” Football legend and TSW25K Ratna Bhaichung Bhutia led nine lucky Ananda Run registrants on the field, while fellow TSW25K Ratna Srabanti Chatterjee signaled the start of the match with the referee’s whistle.
The lively event brought together runners, partners, sponsors, and celebrities, celebrating Kolkata’s vibrant sporting culture.

“It is a privilege to lead ‘Bhaichung’s 10’ and launch the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata. The energy, diversity, and unity I witnessed today reaffirm why Kolkata is truly India’s sporting heart.”
