Kolkata/Siliguri : Marking World Health Day 2026, Desun Hospital rolled out a series of impactful health awareness and community outreach initiatives across Kolkata and Siliguri, underscoring its commitment to preventive healthcare and public well-being.
In Siliguri, the day began with a vibrant walkathon from Venus More to Air View More, drawing enthusiastic participation from residents and promoting the importance of physical fitness. Adding a practical dimension to the event, Desun’s medical team conducted live demonstrations of Basic Life Support (BLS), equipping participants with essential life-saving skills using mannequins.
The walkathon was followed by a mega health camp, where citizens benefited from free health check-ups, medical consultations, and basic screenings. The initiative saw strong community engagement and highlighted the growing awareness around preventive healthcare.
Meanwhile, in Kolkata, Desun Hospital organized health camps at two of the city’s most frequented fitness hubs—Rabindra Sarobar and Patuli Lake. Morning walkers received on-the-spot health assessments, vital checks, and expert medical advice, reinforcing the importance of regular health monitoring.
Further strengthening its outreach, Desun’s consultants hosted interactive OPD sessions across departments, focusing on lifestyle diseases, preventive care, and early diagnosis. These discussions aimed to empower patients and their families with practical, actionable health insights.
Recognizing the importance of early intervention, the hospital also engaged with school students through interactive sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and active living. The initiative sought to instill healthy habits among the younger generation and encourage long-term well-being.
