Commissioning Ceremony of BSc Nursing Cadets Held at Command Hospital (EC)

Kolkata: The Commissioning Ceremony of 30 Nursing Cadets from Batch XII of the College of Nursing, Command Hospital (Eastern Command), was held with great solemnity and pride on Thursday.

Major General Sanjay Maurya, VSM, Commandant of Command Hospital (Eastern Command), graced the occasion as the Reviewing Officer. The ceremony marked the formal induction of the cadets into Military Nursing Service.

Brigadier Sushma Thomas, VSM, Principal Matron of Command Hospital (EC), administered the oath to the newly commissioned officers, symbolizing their commitment to serve the nation with dedication and compassion. Colonel Jeeva George, Principal of the College of Nursing, played a pivotal role in organizing the ceremony, ensuring that the traditions and ethos of the institution were upheld.

Among the cadets, Lieutenant Bhawna Sharma was awarded the Rolling Trophy and Gold Medal for securing the first position in the final course. Lieutenant Ayushi Bajpai was adjudged as the Best All-Round Nursing Cadet for her excellence in academics as well as co-curricular activities. Lieutenant Varsha Gehlot received the award for Best Clinical Nurse in recognition of her outstanding clinical skills.

The ceremony marked a proud milestone for the newly commissioned officers as they begin their journey in military nursing. They now step forward with a commitment to serve the nation with professional excellence, unwavering dedication, and deep compassion.
