Axis Bank Strengthens Safe Banking with AI-Led Fraud Prevention

Kolkata: Axis Bank has strengthened its Safe Banking framework through AI-powered fraud prevention, real-time customer controls, and branch-led awareness initiatives aimed at protecting customers from evolving digital threats.

The bank reported a nearly 40% reduction in fraud incidents across retail mobile banking, internet banking, and shopping mall transactions in FY26 compared to FY25. AI-driven monitoring also helped prevent 4.5 times more digital fraud cases during the period.

Axis Bank has introduced customer-focused security features such as Face Authentication, Safety Centre, Mobile App Code, Lock FD, and SMS Shield, enabling customers to take greater control of their banking security.

In West Bengal, the bank operates 441 branches and 1,181 ATMs and recyclers. It also conducted over 1,000 financial literacy camps across the state in FY26 to promote safe banking practices and digital awareness.

The bank plans to add 46 new branches in West Bengal during FY27, with nearly half located in semi-urban and rural areas
