Kolkata : Eastern Railway’s Kanchrapara Workshop has accomplished pioneering initiative in setting up a state-of-the-art Divyang Restroom exclusively designed for Divyangjan employees. This initiative underscores Eastern Railway’s unflinching commitment in enhancing workplace accessibility and ensuring inclusivity for all, aligning seamlessly with the principles of the Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan (Accessible India Campaign).
Eastern Railway’s Kanchrapara Workshop, one of oldest workshops of Indian Railways established in 1863 & one of the largest employers of Divyang employees in Eastern Railway, demonstrates its unwavering dedication to the well-being and holistic development of its 500 divyangjan workforce. The newly dedicated Divyang Restroom stands as a testament to this commitment, tailored meticulously to meet the needs of Divyang individuals. This unique Divyang Rest Room will also serve as changing room for Divyang Employee.
The newly developed Divyang Restroom is loaded with essential amenities, including Divyang-friendly toilets and wheelchair-accessible slopes, ensuring comfort and convenience for all users. Furthermore, the room is equipped with stand out specialized equipments like visually impaired Chess, Carrom, Cricket kits etc., thereby enhancing recreational opportunities within the workplace environment in consonance with various provisions of ILO (International Labour Organisation).
This initiative not only sets a new standard in Divyang-friendly infrastructure development but also underscores Eastern Railway’s proactive approach in fostering an inclusive working atmosphere by prioritizing accessibility and comfort for the precious Divyang workforce.
