Kolkata, April 24, 2025: Ruby General Hospital, Eastern India’s first NRI hospital, is marking its 30th anniversary on April 25, 2025, with a series of groundbreaking developments in healthcare. Inaugurated on April 25, 1995, by then Chief Minister Jyoti Basu, and with its Cardiac Surgery Unit opened by Mother Teresa the same year, the hospital has now grown into a 500-bed multispecialty facility with a world-class Cancer Centre.

Major Healthcare Announcements:

  • New Technology at Ruby Cancer Centre: The hospital recently launched its second Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator Machine (Version 3.0), offering advanced tumor mapping and precision radiation therapy with the Eclipse Version 18 planning system. This upgrade enhances accuracy in cancer treatment.

Founder Chairman Dr. Kamal K Dutta expressed deep gratitude and reaffirmed Ruby’s commitment to affordable, high-quality care. “Our aim has always been service to society. This 30th anniversary is not just a celebration but a renewal of that commitment,” he said.
