Kolkata: Dubai is all set to dazzle with glitz, glamour and cultural grandeur as it hosts the much-anticipated “5 Star Film Awards Bangla & Odia 2025” on 23rd November 2025 at the prestigious Sheikh Rashid Auditorium. The international awards night aims to celebrate the excellence, creativity and artistic brilliance of both the Bengali and Odia film industries on a global stage.
Ahead of the grand celebration, a press conference was recently held at The Spring Club, Kolkata, organized by RR Events and Cine Production in collaboration with Bhawna Aaj O Kal. The conference saw the participation of leading film personalities who shared insights about this ambitious initiative to unite two of India’s culturally rich cinematic worlds — Bengal and Odisha.
Prominent figures present at the press meet included renowned entrepreneur and film producer Ramesh Barik, National Award-winning actress Rituparna Sengupta and show director and choreographer Debraj Ghoshal, who emphasized the vision of creating a global platform to honour regional cinema.
The forthcoming Dubai event will witness the presence of an illustrious lineup of stars from both industries, including Jeet, Rituparna Sengupta, Pooja Banerjee, Payel Sarkar, Anirban Chakraborty, Susmita Chatterjee, Trina Saha, Sourasini Moitra, Biswanath Basu, Kanchan Mollick, Lahoma Bhattacharjee, film directors Raja Chanda and Joydeep Mukherjee and celebrated singers Iman Chakraborty and Rathijit Bhattacharjee from the Bengali film fraternity.
From the Odia film industry, the celebration will feature stars such as Kuna Tripathy, Seetal Patra, Sivani Sangita, Boomika, Suryamayee, Diya, Apsara Rani, Sritam Das, Debasish Parta, and acclaimed singers Satyajit Pradhan and Bhagyashri Mohanty.
Adding to the evening’s splendour, veteran Indian actress Moon Moon Sen and renowned Odia film icon Mahesweta Ray will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for their remarkable contributions to Indian cinema and for embodying grace, glamour, and excellence that defined the golden era of films.
The event will be directed by noted choreographer and show director Debraj Ghoshal, promising an unforgettable night of performances, tributes, and celebrations.
The grand awards night in Dubai will also be graced by Madan Mitra, MLA, as the Chief Guest, along with several eminent personalities from the Indian film fraternity including Ramesh Barik, Rituparna Sengupta, Debraj Ghoshal, filmmaker Premendu Bikas Chaki, Mrinmoy Kanjilal, and Arnab Saha, among many others.
Known for successfully curating international cinematic events in Dubai and Singapore, RR Events and Cine Production also announced their next major venture — a grand film awards ceremony in the United Kingdom slated for May 2026, under the leadership of producer Ramesh Barik.
The 5 Star Film Awards Bangla & Odia 2025 stands as a proud testament to India’s regional film excellence, aiming to create a vibrant cultural bridge between Bengal and Odisha while showcasing their cinematic legacy to an international audience.
