Kolkata: In a bid to stop the menace of ticketless travel, Sealdah Division is exerting relentless ticket checking efforts across the division and at the same time trying to spread passenger awareness about the importance of travelling with valid tickets.
As a part of that endeavour, a special Fortress Checking Drive was conducted in the sections of Dum Dum-Naihati and Ballygunge – Sonarpur Lakshmikantpur – Canning, Diamond Harbour,Dum Dum Cant- Thakurnagar, under the leadership of Sr. DCM Santanu Chakraborty and under the guidance of Dipak Nigam, DRM/Sealdah . The drive was mainly focused on checking ticketless travel, unbooked luggage and spitting case at various stations over the aforementioned sections.

During the massive drive, a whooping total of 1253 cases were identified where passengers either did not have a ticket or had an incorrect ticket or lacked valid documentation for accompanying luggage. These cases resulted in a total revenue collection of ₹3.5 lakh.
This drive reflects our unwavering commitment to curb ticketless travel and unbooked luggage. We will continue such efforts and urge passengers to adhere to regulations and carry proper tickets and luggage documents during their journey.
