Kolkata: On May 21, 2024, around 12:00 PM, a group of around 50-75 disorderly eunuchs forcibly entered Barddhaman Railway station unauthorisedly and then into RPF/Post/Burdwan. They viciously attacked the on duty RPF personnel, including female staff and fled away. As a result, Five RPF personnel sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. The wrath of the eunuchs is due to RPF’s drive against the disturbance caused to the passengers on board by the eunuchs.
This aggressive action by the eunuchs is believed to be retaliation of efforts to curb their illegal activities within railway premises and aboard trains.
It’s important to note that numerous complaints have been filed through the Rail Madad complaint portal (Dial-139) regarding the illegal activities and harassment perpetrated by eunuchs against bonafide passengers. During the month of April, 07 complaints and in the month of May (till 20.05.024) 08 complaints regarding the illegal activities of Eunuchs are received.
