Kolkata : The stage is set for both a spectacular and hopefully a thrilling conclusion to the 133rd IndianOil Durand Cup, as the iconic Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) in Kolkata, gears up to host the grand finale between home favourites and record 17-time champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant and first-time finalists NorthEast United FC, come Saturday, August 31, 2024. The final match is set to kick-off after the closing ceremony celebrations, at 5:30 PM IST.
The game will be broadcast LIVE on the Sony Sports Network and can also be livestreamed on the SonyLIV OTT platform.
The function begins an hour ahead of kick-off and will feature a series of spell bounding aerial displays and vibrant cultural performances.
The Chief Guest for the evening will be General Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, Chief of the Defence Staff. The event will also be graced by the presence of Aroop Biswas, Minster of Youth Services & Sports, Housing and Power, Government of West Bengal, Gen Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Ram Chander Tiwari UYSM, AVSM SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command and Patron Durand Cup Organising Committee (DCOC) and Lt General RC Srikanth, VSM, Chief of Staff, HQ Eastern Command, Chairman DCOC.
The evening will begin with an awe-inspiring flypast by the Army Aviation’s Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) and Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), setting a high-flying tone for the festivities, followed by a captivating aerial display by the LCH, showcasing precision and skill.
Following the aerial performances, the ceremony will transition into a cultural showcase, with an array of performances, beginning with Devesh Lal & Band, delivering a dynamic musical performance.
