Birbhum gets New IPS Officer as New Year Gift

Birbhum, Raju Mal : In a significant development, Amandeep, a seasoned IPS officer, has taken the reins as the new Police Superintendent of Birbhum district. This move comes amidst a crackdown on illegal sand mining and smuggling in the region.

Amandeep, formerly the Police Superintendent of East Burdwan district, assumed his new role last Friday. The state police department issued a notification announcing the changes in police leadership, which also saw IPS Sayak Das appointed as the new Police Superintendent of East Burdwan district.

The development follows concerns expressed by the Chief Minister of West Bengal over illegal sand mining and smuggling. The police department has launched a crackdown, with raids on several sand mines and smuggling hubs.

As the new Police Superintendent, Amandeep will oversee efforts to combat illegal activities and maintain law and order in the district. His experience and expertise are expected to bring a new level of efficiency to the role.
