Ranchi: The much-anticipated defence technology exhibition East Tech 2025 opened today at the Khelgaon Stadium, Ranchi, with a grand inauguration by Governor of Jharkhand Santosh Gangwar, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Sanjay Seth, Raksha Rajya Mantri, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command and Air Marshal Surat Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command. The event drew an impressive gathering of senior military leaders, civil administration officials, paramilitary representatives, and defence industry stakeholders.
Jointly organised by the Eastern Command and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), East Tech 2025 has emerged as a premier platform to showcase and integrate cutting-edge indigenous technologies that address operational challenges in the Eastern Theatre and strengthen the Indian Army’s preparedness.

Day 1 Highlights
The inaugural ceremony was followed by keynote addresses from Governor Shri Santosh Gangwar, CM Shri Hemant Soren, Shri Sanjay Seth, General Anil Chauhan, Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, and SIDM President RS Bhatia. They underscored the strategic importance of self-reliance, innovation, and collaborative R&D with the Indian defence industry.
With over 200 exhibitors, including MSMEs, DPSUs, DRDO labs, private firms, and start-ups, East Tech 2025 has attracted an overwhelming response. The event provides exposure to Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions, facilitates field deployment opportunities, and strengthens procurement and maintenance ecosystems.
