Kolkata: With the Durga Puja rush set to bring lakhs of additional passengers to Sealdah Station, Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division has announced a comprehensive crowd management and travel plan to ensure safe and seamless journeys. The measures, effective from September 27/28 to October 1/2, 2025, include designated entry/exit points at the station and the introduction of 31 Puja Special EMU services.
Passenger Regulation and Crowd Management
To handle the surge, specific entry and exit gates have been earmarked across Sealdah Station. Among them:
- Exit Gates: Prafulla Gate (PF 1–5), North Gate (PF 6–10), Metro Gate, South Metro & South Gates, Parcel & GRP Office Gate, PF No. 1/DRM Office Gate.
- Entry Gates: Dairy Shop via Main Gate, Main Gate, Metro Station Taxi Stand Subway, Sealdah South Station Gate.
- Mail/Express Passengers: St. Ambulance Gate will serve both entry and exit.
