District Forces Travel West Bengal

Malda : In a remarkable testament to adventure, discipline, and national pride, sixty spirited Naval NCC cadets from the West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate set sail on an inspiring expedition from Farakka to Kolkata on 05 November 2025. Covering more than 400 km along the sacred Ganges River, the 20-day voyage commemorates 150 years of Vande Mataram—a celebration of unity, patriotism and the enduring spirit of the nation.

Flagged off with great enthusiasm, the expedition showcases the core values of the National Cadet Corps—teamwork, endurance, leadership and service. As the young cadets navigate the mighty Ganges, they will test both physical stamina and mental resilience while engaging closely with communities across riverbank settlements.

Throughout the journey, the cadets will participate in a series of Social Service and Community Development (SSCD) activities at multiple stops. These include awareness campaigns, cleanliness drives, tree plantation programmes, and interactive sessions with local youth. The initiatives aim to foster civic responsibility, environmental consciousness and national integration.

Blending tradition with courage, this sailing expedition seeks to strengthen camaraderie among the cadets while reinforcing the NCC’s unwavering commitment to nation-building and character development.
