Kolkata : The city of joy is set to resonate with the soul of Indian classical music and dance as Bharat Sanskriti Yatra 2025 unfolds from November 27 to 29 at Nazrul Manch, Kolkata. Organized by the Hindusthan Art & Music Society (HAMS), the festival promises to be one of the largest cultural congregations in Southeast Asia this year. The event will feature two evenings of enchanting performances on the 27th and 28th, culminating in an all-night classical music concert on November 29.

A press conference was recently held at the Press Club, Kolkata, to announce the festival. The gathering was graced by distinguished personalities, including Debasish Kumar (MLA & President of the Festival), alongside legendary maestros Pandit Kumar Bose, Pandit Sanjay Mukherjee, Pandit Bickram Ghosh, Pandit Tanmoy Bose, Pandit Prosenjit Poddar, Pandit Mollar Ghosh, Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya, as well as vocal virtuoso Raghav Chatterjee, eminent Kathak exponent Guru Madhumita Roy and Odissi danseuse Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya, among other celebrated artists.

Speaking at the occasion, Festival President Shri Debasish Kumar expressed pride in Kolkata’s enduring cultural legacy:

“Kolkata has always been the heart of Indian art and culture. Bharat Sanskriti Yatra is a glorious reflection of our heritage and talent. It is a matter of pride to host such a grand festival that bridges generations of artists in a spirit of harmony.”

Legendary tabla maestro Pandit Kumar Bose described the Yatra as a spiritual and artistic journey:

“This festival is not just an event—it’s a confluence of rhythm, melody, and devotion that unites us all. It provides a common stage for both emerging and established artists to celebrate the eternal essence of Indian classical music.”

Renowned santoor virtuoso Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya highlighted the festival’s relevance in contemporary times:

“In today’s fast-changing world, it is vital to preserve our cultural roots. Bharat Sanskriti Yatra beautifully bridges tradition and modernity, inspiring the younger generation to cherish and carry forward our classical heritage.”

Festival Secretary Pandit Prosenjit Poddar emphasized the festival’s inclusive spirit:
