Kolkata : A team from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) emerged victorious at the 15th edition of the BCC&I–GNIT Technology Quiz – Inter College Quiz Fest 2026, held at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT), a JIS Group educational initiative.
The winning team comprised Samyak Sheersh and Aditya Pal, who outperformed participants from more than 60 colleges and universities across West Bengal in the competitive quiz that tested knowledge of technology, current affairs and analytical reasoning.
The second position was jointly secured by Arun Majumder from GNIT and Sneha Santra from Techno Bengal Institute of Technology. Another team from IIT Kharagpur claimed the third position, highlighting the institute’s strong presence in the competition.
The quiz was organised with support from the Bharat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) and had Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) as the technical co-partner.
The event was attended by several distinguished guests including Dr. Neeraj Saxena, Pro-Chancellor of JIS University; Dr. Swarup Kumar Mitra, Principal of GNIT; Surojit Roy, Co-founder and Head of Business Strategy at Bharat Plus AI; Abhishake De Sarkar, Career Coach, Author and CEO of Advent Education; and Sambit Dasgupta, Deputy Director of BCC&I.
Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Simarpreet Singh said that the Technology Quiz serves as more than just a competition. “It is a platform that stimulates curiosity, sharpens analytical thinking, and inspires students to engage with emerging ideas and innovations. Such initiatives not only celebrate knowledge but also empower young minds to think critically, collaborate effectively, and prepare for the challenges of a rapidly evolving technological world,” he remarked.
The annual quiz festival continues to attract enthusiastic participation from students across the state, providing a vibrant platform for showcasing technological awareness and intellectual talent.
