Kolkata: Mahindra Truck and Bus has launched the BLAZO i-TRK, a new heavy commercial truck aimed at fleet operators and transporters, with the company pitching fuel savings, higher vehicle uptime and connected fleet management as its key differentiators.
The new truck is being positioned around Mahindra’s ‘Profit Ka Rocket’ proposition. According to the company, the BLAZO i-TRK can deliver up to 10% better fuel efficiency, with the potential to generate additional savings of up to ₹15 lakh per truck over five years, compared with other trucks, subject to operating conditions and the applicable terms.
One of the major features of the new range is Mahindra’s 48-hour uptime guarantee. Under the programme, eligible customers can receive ₹10,000 per day if the vehicle is not returned to operation within the committed 48-hour period.
The company said the uptime programme is supported by its network of service centres and Mahindra Quick Service Points (mQSPs), located within 75 km on National Highways and 50 km on State Highways.
Focus on fuel efficiency and performance
The BLAZO i-TRK is powered by Mahindra’s 320 HP mPOWER engine across the range. The truck gets technologies including the AI-powered iFUELSMART auto-drive mode, TurboMAXX turbocharger and OptiFuel air compressor, which Mahindra says are aimed at improving fuel efficiency and operating economics.
For drivers, the truck comes with a COMFiMAXX suspended seat, EzyCruise cruise control, Bluetooth-enabled music system with microphone and an air-conditioned cabin.
Mahindra has also introduced a parts availability commitment covering 250 critical parts across its dealer network. Under the programme, eligible customers can receive the respective part free of cost if it is not supplied within the committed 24-hour period, subject to the terms of the guarantee.
Connected technology gets bigger role
The BLAZO i-TRK features iMAXX 2.0, Mahindra’s connected vehicle platform. The system provides fleet operators with information related to vehicle performance, predictive diagnostics, driver behaviour, servicing and other operational data through desktop and mobile interfaces.
The company has also introduced the Now24x7 mobile app, through which fleet owners can raise and track breakdown requests, monitor breakdown vehicle locations, approve repair orders digitally, order spare parts, check service history and schedule servicing.
For longer-term ownership, Mahindra is offering mCARE Annual Maintenance Contracts and Extended Warranty plans, including six-year/six-lakh-kilometre and eight-year/eight-lakh-kilometre options, while extended warranty options ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 hours are available for tipper applications.
New design and cabin layout
The BLAZO i-TRK is the first truck range from Mahindra to adopt the company’s INTELLICORE design philosophy for its heavy commercial vehicle portfolio.
The truck features a wide grille, full-size headlamps and a redesigned cabin aimed at improving driver comfort and usability. The range will be available in three colour options across different variants and applications.
Commenting on the launch, Vinod Sahay, President – Trucks & Buses, Executive Chairman – SML Mahindra and Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra Group, said the freight and logistics sector is moving towards greater use of technology, reliability and operational efficiency.
He said the BLAZO i-TRK has been developed around intelligent trucking, with the company targeting higher profitability for transporters through improved fuel efficiency and vehicle uptime.
The launch comes as fleet operators increasingly look at fuel consumption, downtime, maintenance costs and digital monitoring as key factors in determining the overall economics of commercial vehicles.
