Mumbai: Investment firm Arma Capital has invested ₹10 crore in three business segments of Hyderabad-based EBG Group, expanding its exposure to wellness, food and family entertainment businesses.
The investment has gone into Carlton Wellness Centres in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chandigarh, while separate franchise arrangements have been signed for NATUF Café, Adhira & Appa Café and Chhota Bheem Family Café in Hyderabad.
The ₹10-crore investment is being treated as the first phase of a wider partnership between the two companies. Arma Capital has said it plans to put more than ₹100 crore over the next five years into EBG Group’s existing businesses and new brands.
The larger investment plan covers Carlton Wellness Centre, Tarzan Nature Retreat, Adhira & Appa Coffee, NATUF Café and Chhota Bheem Café, along with other brands that EBG Group may launch. Expansion is being planned across markets such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Delhi-NCR.
The deal gives Arma Capital a presence across several consumer-facing businesses rather than a single brand. Its earlier investments have included consumer, hospitality and lifestyle businesses, while EBG Group has built a portfolio spanning wellness, cafés and family-oriented experiences.
Arun Jain, Founder and Managing Director of Arma Capital, said the firm was looking at businesses that cater to regular consumer demand and have scope to expand across cities. According to Jain, the combination of wellness, food and family-oriented brands under EBG Group was a key factor behind the investment.
EBG Group Founder and Chairman Dr Irfan Khan said the investment across multiple brands reflected Arma Capital’s confidence in the group’s businesses and its longer-term expansion plans.
The partnership is now expected to focus on opening new locations, expanding existing brands and developing additional consumer businesses. The planned investment could also take EBG Group’s brands into more cities over the next five years.
