Kolkata: Porsche has expanded its electric vehicle line-up in India with the launch of the Cayenne Electric, bringing an all-electric version of its popular luxury SUV to the market.
The new Cayenne Electric is available in two variants — the Cayenne Electric and the higher-performance Cayenne Turbo Electric. Prices start at ₹1,77,27,000 for the Cayenne Electric, while the Turbo Electric is priced at ₹2,27,51,000.
Customer deliveries began on September 30, coinciding with the model’s official India launch in Mumbai.
The new electric Cayenne brings a battery-powered drivetrain to the Cayenne family while retaining the SUV’s focus on everyday usability. Porsche has positioned the model as a combination of electric mobility and the performance associated with the brand.
Speaking about the launch, Porsche India Head Ashutosh Dixit said the electrification of the Cayenne marks an important new phase for the company. He said the new model has been developed to offer electric mobility without moving away from the driving experience and performance expected from a Porsche.
The Cayenne Electric also adds another fully electric option to Porsche India’s existing range. Customers can choose between the standard electric version and the more performance-focused Cayenne Turbo Electric.
While Porsche is expanding its electric portfolio, the company will continue to offer petrol-powered Cayenne variants into the next decade, giving buyers a choice between conventional and electric powertrains.
The India launch took place in Mumbai, with the new Cayenne Electric being introduced to the media and customers before deliveries began across the country.
