Business Kolkata West Bengal

From a wish-fulfilment installation to immersive cultural experiences and dedicated rest kiosks for Bengal Police, the initiative takes the spirit of Shakti beyond traditional Puja celebrations.

Kolkata : Durga Puja in Kolkata is known for its artistic pandals, grand celebrations and deep cultural connections. This year, Shyam Metalics is adding another dimension to the festivities with ‘Shakti Ek, Roop Anek’, an initiative that celebrates the many expressions of strength through hope, memories, culture and community care.

Rooted in the values of Shakti, Suraksha and Samvedana, the campaign aims to move beyond the visual grandeur of Durga Puja and create experiences that connect with people on a deeper level. From helping turn personal wishes into reality to celebrating Bengal’s cultural heritage and recognising the dedication of Bengal Police, the initiative places people and their stories at the centre of the festive experience.

Wall of Shakti: Turning Wishes into Possibilities

One of the key attractions of the campaign is the Wall of Shakti, an installation crafted using SEL Tiger TMT Bars and featuring a prominent structure of Maa Durga.

Visitors will have the opportunity to write and place their wishes on the wall. Shyam Metalics has undertaken to fulfil selected wishes, bringing its promise of ‘Sapne Pure Honge’ to life.

The initiative seeks to highlight the power of hope and the importance of support in helping people realise their aspirations. By giving visitors a platform to share their dreams, the installation aims to make the festive experience more personal and meaningful.

Shakti Tunnel Celebrates Bengal’s Art and Culture

Adding an immersive dimension to the campaign, the Shakti Tunnel will bring together striking visuals, interactive elements and selfie experiences inspired by Bengal’s artistic traditions and the spirit of Durga Puja.

The installation is designed to offer visitors an engaging space to explore the cultural expressions of Shakti while capturing memories of the festivities.

Together, the Wall of Shakti and Shakti Tunnel seek to combine creativity, cultural identity and public participation, offering visitors experiences that extend beyond conventional pandal attractions.

Shakti Booths: A Tribute to Bengal Police

Beyond festive installations, the campaign also focuses on those who work behind the scenes to keep Kolkata safe during Durga Puja.

Shyam Metalics will establish Shakti Booths across 30 Durga Puja pandals in Bengal, providing resting kiosks for Bengal Police personnel deployed to manage crowds and maintain public order throughout the celebrations.

The booths are intended to offer officers a moment of respite amid their demanding duties during the festive season. Visitors will also be encouraged to leave messages of appreciation for the personnel, which will be handed over to police officials after Durga Puja.

The initiative seeks to recognise the commitment of police personnel whose work plays an essential role in ensuring that millions of people can enjoy the festival safely.

Three Major Puja Destinations to Host Campaign Experiences

The campaign’s three principal experiences will be featured at prominent Durga Puja destinations across Kolkata:

  • Mudiali Club
  • New Town Sarbojanin Durgotsab Samiti
  • Tala Barowari Durgotsab Samiti

In addition, the Shakti Booth initiative will extend to 30 Puja pandals across Bengal, widening the campaign’s focus on community engagement and appreciation for frontline personnel.

Shyam Metalics Emphasises Social Responsibility

Commenting on the initiative, Sumit Chakraborty, Director – Corporate Affairs, External Relations & CSR, Shyam Metalics, said the campaign reflects the company’s commitment to creating positive change in the communities it serves.

He highlighted the Wall of Shakti as an effort to support aspirations and turn selected wishes into reality, while describing the Shakti Booths as a gesture of gratitude towards Bengal Police for their dedication during Durga Puja.

Nirmal Uday, COO of Shyam Metalics, said the initiative aims to translate the idea of Shakti into experiences that people can connect with through hope, memories and care.

He emphasised that strength has its greatest meaning when it makes a difference in people’s lives, adding that the campaign seeks to make Durga Puja more inclusive, meaningful and memorable through its installations, cultural experiences and tribute to the police force.

Celebrating the Many Faces of Shakti

Through ‘Shakti Ek, Roop Anek’, Shyam Metalics is seeking to highlight a broader understanding of Shakti—one that goes beyond strength and symbolism to encompass aspiration, compassion, cultural identity and collective responsibility.

The campaign’s central message reflects the spirit of the initiative:

Shakti gives us strength.

Shakti turns dreams into reality.

Shakti is compassion.

Shakti is our inspiration.

As Kolkata prepares for its biggest annual festival, the initiative seeks to celebrate not only the power of Maa Durga but also the everyday acts of courage, kindness and support that bring communities together.
