Kolkata : Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management (GNIHM), an educational initiative under the JIS Group, successfully hosted its much-anticipated annual gala food festival, AMALGAM 2026, celebrating culinary craftsmanship alongside India’s rich cultural spirit. The event reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to excellence in hospitality education, hotel management, and catering technology.
AMALGAM 2026 unfolded as a vibrant showcase of India’s diverse culinary heritage. An elaborate spread of food stalls offered regional delicacies from across the country, innovative fusion dishes, indulgent desserts, and refreshing beverages. Guests were taken on a flavourful journey, experiencing both authentic traditional tastes and contemporary interpretations, all curated and presented by GNIHM’s aspiring hospitality professionals.
Beyond gastronomy, the festival was a lively confluence of food, music and cultural expression, reflecting the dynamic and celebratory spirit of India. The evening came alive with cultural exuberance, making the event a wholesome sensory experience for visitors.
The gala was graced by several eminent personalities, including renowned actor Anirban Bhattacharya, popular singer Rishi Panda, celebrated food vloggers, and distinguished guests from the worlds of art, culture, and gastronomy. Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group; Sardar Harinder Pal Singh, Trustee, JIS Group; along with senior members of the JIS Group management were also present, lending prestige and encouragement to the occasion.
