Kolkata: In the week of the commemoration of a saga of 25 years of glory, 22nd December 2023 emerged as the day of jollity and mirth with the entire fraternity of Army Public School Barrackpore assembling at Dhyanchand Stadium, Barrackpore Cantonment, to witness the gala extravaganza.
The tinge of the setting sun marked the commencement of ‘SILVERADO’, the Annual Fiesta of the school that led to mesmerising performances delineated by the young aspirants of the institution. The august presence of Lieutenant General RC Srikanth,VSM, Chief of Staff, Eastern Command, as the Chief Guest and his words of wisdom added grandeur to the event that witnessed footfalls of many a luminary.
The myriad events which enraptured the spectators comprised the Welcome Song by the school choir group, Welcome Speech by the Head Boy and Head Girl of the school.

The lucid evening turned memorable with the avid participation of 600 students in multifarious events which comprised the charismatic Fashion Show, the mellifluous rendition of Melody Marathon, the graceful Western Fusion Dance, the enchanting play ‘Kaalchakra’ in Hindi, depiction of a fragment of Shakespearean play ‘Macbeth’, and the cadence of Classical and Folk Dance.
In her address, Dr. Moitreyee Mukherjee, Principal, APS Barrackpore emphasised on the mission of the school in grooming the cherubic delights as ideal 21st century citizens who will successfully take up the baton to contribute to the history of human civilization fostering inclusivity and empathy. The Award Ceremony held mirror to the virtuosity of the learners in varied domains and activities conducted by the school in shaping young minds.
The Chief Guest highlighted on the fact that he felt elated having seen the exuberant celebration of 25 glorious years of Army Public School Barrackpore. He further added that each participant of the programme judiciously performed the role to the best of his ability. He reminded all the students that they must respect their teachers from the core of their heart.
