Kolkata: In a collaborative effort, officials from RPF Post/Sealdah South and RPF/D&A Wing/HQ/Eastern Railway conducted a successful raid and checking drive at Sealdah Railway Station .
The operation resulted in the apprehension of an individual found in possession of 11.574 kgs. of Silver Ornaments valued at Rs.475,000, concealed in a backpack.
The detained person failed to produce valid documents supporting the seized silver ornaments, leading to his apprehension. The recovered articles were promptly handed over to the Customs Department, Sealdah, for further legal action.
Continuing their vigilant efforts, on December 22, 2023, during another raid and checking drive, RPF official from Sealdah South apprehended a person with recovery of 2.381 kgs of silver ornaments valued at Rs.98,000, found in his bag near the exit gate of Sealdah station.
Similar to the previous case, the accused person could not provide any documents supporting the recovered ornaments. The apprehended individual, along with the seized ornaments, was promptly handed over to the Customs Department of Sealdah for further legal proceedings.
