Kolkata : In a proud ceremony today at Fairlie Place, Milind K Deouskar, General Manager of Eastern Railway and Chief Patron of the Eastern Railway Sports Association, felicitated the Eastern Railway Men’s Cricket Team for their victorious performance in the 67th All India Railways Men’s Cricket Championship. Soumitra Majumdar, Principal Chief Commercial Manager and Honorary President of the Eastern Railway Sports Association was also present in the felicitation event.
The team’s remarkable journey culminated in a grand win against South Western Railway in the finals, where they scored 247 runs in 40 overs and successfully restricted their opponents to 166 runs in 30.3 overs. This victory not only highlights the skill and dedication of the players but also reinforces Eastern Railway’s commitment to promoting sports and nurturing talent within its ranks.
Milind K Deouskar, in his address during the ceremony, praised the team for their hard work, resilience, and sportsmanship which have led them to reclaim the championship title after 18 years.
